GoonDocks.com is a personal domain I picked up a few years back. I got tired of my email address changing each time I was forced to change ISPs. Buying my own domain name would allow me to control my email address until the end of time...or at least until this Internet fad passes. So here we are.
"Goon Docks" itself is an obscure reference to the movie The Goonies. This is a movie I liked (and watched) a lot growing up in the 80's. The movie is about a group of misfit kids (The Goonies) who, in an effort to save their town, go on an adventure to find gold hidden by a pirate named, um, One-Eyed Willy. The plot isn't really important, what's important is that a character named Chunk does the Truffle Shuffle. If you haven't watched the movie, then you just need to add watching it to your "Things to do before I die" list.
My name is Gabe Sumner. I live and work in Scottsdale, Arizona. Scottsdale is "part" of the urban sprawl machine that is Phoenix. Except Scottsdale is different. Scottsdale is where all the rich trendy people live. Everything is overpriced, everyone has plastic surgery & artificial tans, and people smell like a combination of perfume and formaldehyde.
I work as a web application programmer. Most of my work involves ASP.NET and C#. In the past, however, I have done plenty of work with Unix, PHP, and Perl. I have also worked as a System Administrator and a Network Operations Center Manager.
I have have a Border Collie named Indy. Dog training is a hobby of mine. Indy is an exceptional dog. There are very few people that she cannot charm.
